Property Flirt

Before the country called and breeding ensued, I spent years living in Islington with Mr Muddy. One of our pet jokes was walking past the beautiful Georgian squares their their lights on the curtains wide open (show offs!), peering in and singing a little song about ‘Looking into people’s houses/Seeing how they’re living’ (um, yeah, I think you had to be there). Anyway, that’s really been the inspiration for Property Flirt, one of my favourite bits of the blog because yes, I’m nosey and yes I have property envy and yessity yes I want to pretend for a moment that I’m going to be living in that house one day.

Today’s house is so off the Muddy financial Richter scale that my computer is about to explode any minute but who cares? Let’s live vicariously!

If you haven’t played Property Flirt before, tis easy. Look at the pics, read the clues, get a feel for the area and then see if you can guess the price. Those who come within £10k of the asking price get a two week internship at Hamptons and a laminated map of Bucks & Oxon. Oh but you’re welcome.

So what we have here is a 6 bedroom contemporary house in Great Horwood near Milton Keynes with nearly 5500sq ft to play in, not to mention 14 acres, a range of stables and outbuildings (*boom* that it – my screen’s smashed).

Three floors of accommodation can be yours. Let’s start with the AGA-ed up kitchen (liking that fireplace)…

… and the other way to the dining room with doors out onto the gardens.

Upstairs there are those 6 bedrooms, two of which  have en-suite shower rooms. The master bedroom has a dressing room and bathroom, vaulted with a glass rear wall overlooking the gardens.

The second floor’s all about the fun – there’s a games room and TV room with which to entice your children away from communal areas until they’re over the grunting phase.

Outside, though, is where the superwow happens. The large paved patio to the rear has twin infinity pools, two access driveways, two triple garages, horse walker, ménage, a large 1810sqft barn, a steel framed commercial unit (3120 sqft), 13 stables and a detached annexe. Now that’s just showing off.

What else to clue you with? Great Horwood has a combined first and middle school, a garage, two pubs and football and cricket clubs so there are some amenities to tickle the prices up. Winslow is 3 miles away for day to day stuff and MK mainline station to London is 10 miles away.

Right then, that’s enough from me. Discuss, decide what the property is worth, and see how close you get.
