Property Flirt: a blousy 4-bed on the border
Oooh la la and fling my bra (ahhhhh, remember those days?)
Here’s a Property Flirt to titillate anyone on the Bucks/Oxon borders, a modern build that rises well above the standard thanks to some lovely architectural flourishes. Fancy guessing the price? No cheatypoos please, I’ll give you some clues, show you the pics, and then put in what you think it’s worth in the comment box before you click through and see how close you get. I was well off the pace on this one – out by £200k! – so see if you can do any better.
Are you sitting comfortably? Then we’ll begin.
Burgage House is in Bull Lane in Thame, very central – I’d say from the map about a 5 minute walk from the main high street area. It’s arranged over 3 floors, with lots of glass, space, open plan areas and those things we would-be Grand Designers obsess over.
There’s a whopper 33ft kitchen/living area that flows into the garden ….
… and a large sitting room with an open fire.
So far so lovely, but let me save my more extravagant praise for the spiral staircase that leads only to the top floor and its very grown up masterbedroom, dressing room and ensuite – begone children, for you are not welcome here!!
If you must accommodate others (*sigh*) then there are 3 more bedrooms and 2 additional bathrooms.
What else? Well, the garden is quite the horticultural dandy, having been open for public viewing as part of the National Garden Scheme.
Finally, there’s lots of off-road parking (no mean feat in Thame, let me tell you) for up to six cars, in case you need a space for all those classic cars you habitually collect in your dreams.
Don’t forget when you’re working out the price that Thame is 2 miles from a direct train line into Marylebone (time: 40 mins), has loads of amenities, 3 primary schools and a decent secondary too.
OK, that’s it! Have a thunk, get your price in your head, and either comment below or check for yourself here.
