Fab interiors shop – and the SALE’S ON!

Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Interiors features here.

When I was in Amersham last month I popped into an interiors shop, not really expecting much, just nosing really. It’s taken me a month to get around to writing about Su Chases Interiors, but turns out that’s a good thing as the SALE starts today. Whoopee!

So the shop… Looks pretty small from the outside, but goes for miles once you’re past the initial room. The style is predominantly country house (which is not my rather Sixties-tastic style) but nevertheless I saw plenty I wanted to buy, from beautiful candles and cushions to a whopper of a clock that would look great on my outside wall.

I really like shops that show some intelligence and understanding of their customers, so appreciated the fact that as I went through or climbed up the stairs to different areas it reflected the various rooms of a house – so there was a bedroom, living room, kitchen, alcoves, outdoor space etc.

The shop is painted a twee pink on the outside so you can’t really miss it down the High St in Old Amersham, and it’s gratifyingly close to both Chatterton’s and CocoMarie fashion boutiques, plus the award-winning Seasons cafe/deli across the road for replenishment. What more do you want, blood?!

Su Chases Interiors, Red Lion House, High Street, Old Amersham, Bucks, HP7 0DP. Tel: 01494 721626.

Love love love Su Chases – shop there for all the gifts I need to buy people who “have everything”! Buy lunch daily from Seasons (they do gret
At wine and tapas in the evenings too!), shop regularly in Coco Marie, Joules, Whistles and Chattertons. Occasional lunch or coffee meetings in The Crown (famed for its Four Weddings… Scene avec Hugh Grant back in the days) BUT you forgot the beautiful Memorial Gardens which are a sight to behold all year round (we should know as our office overlooks them!!) AND our favourite eaterie which serves the most relish food and brilliant service Gilbeys Restaurant. Fab for lunch or dinner, whatever age and whatever occasion Pip and her team make this restaurant something special!!

As a PR (but not specifically promoting Old Amersham,) I think I should invite you to lunch or dinner there Hero – and forgive you for not dropping in to say hi to the team at mi-commsPR! How can you resist?! Kirsty x

Hi Kirsty, I shall take you up on lunch! I don’t need to be asked twice, lol. Thanks for the tips – the Memorial Gardens sound lovely and I haven’t been to Gilbey’s. Apologies for not dropping in to say hi, but I was with two small bratlets last time I was in Amersham. Trust me, I did you a favour! Hero x
