Little India Boutique sale – you should see this stuff!
Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Interiors features here.
Eeeek! I’m so excited about The Little India Boutique. You may have read bits about them in the local papers over the last month, or seen them at craft fairs.
Basically, it’s a plucky little start up business by husband and wife Raj and Toby, who married last year, went travelling around India, fell in love with the beautiful handmade products and then resigned from their jobs to start their company. A bit of a whirlwind, not to mention a risk – but I’ve seen these quilts, throws and cushions up close and I am full of confidence for these guys.
If you’re a regular reader of Muddy Stilettos (of course you are, you have infinite taste) you’ll know I’m a bit of a retro interiors fan, big on G-Plan and plastic and not generally crazy about this kind of thing. But I have to tell you….when you see and touch these quilts and throws, they are incredibly beautiful. Even more than that, they have a story to them, their past respectfully traced and recorded by Raj and Simon, and the compulsion to buy one is very strong!
I’m still very tempted by this bird of paradise double quilt (above) and there are dozens of really stunning double-sided throws as well (below). The photos don’t really do them justice, the detail and the colours.
Anyway, I’ll have my chance this Wednesday 15 May, when Little India Boutique holds an event at The Flower Pot Cafe in Long Crendon, Bucks (2 miles from Thame if you don’t know the village).
By the way, if you’re in the mood to buy, just mention the magic words ‘Muddy Stilettos’ and you’ll get 10% off your purchases. Oh I’m good to you!
