Loving this idea! Susie Hall who runs a successful ebay designer seconds fashion business from her base in Amersham, has launched a homes ‘division’, and what a clever-clogs idea it is.
Basically if you’re moving house and your old furniture doesn’t quite fit the new place, or you’re sick of paying for storage, or frankly you’re having a diva moment and want to replace absolutely everything in your home with brand new gorgeousness from Selfridges and the Conran Shop (hey, leave me alone – I’m mid-fantasy here), Suzie Hall Home takes the entire strain of the sale for you.
Basically, someone comes around to your house, values your goodies, takes the photos and does all the marketing. If there’s no sale, there’s no fee. Apparently architectural salvage (fireplaces, stained glass windows etc) kitchens (!), dining tables, chairs, beds and sofas go down particularly well, so if you want to get rid of stuff without having the faff, I think I’ve just found your woman.
