Wouldn’t you though?
Wowsa, I love this chandelier! I came across it at the awesome Life at Nettlebed interiors emporium near Henley and was gobsmacked by it. It’s designed by a local company, and takes its inspiration from driftwood, but with each spoke individually handcrafted from air-dried solid English oak. It kind of looks a bit otherworldly in some ways, like the electric tenticles of an alien form hovering in the sky (or are those magic mushrooms repeating on me?).
Even if this chandelier doesn’t suit your house or taste, it’s well worth a jaunt over to Life at Nettlebed, because it will knock your socks off. I’ve mentioned it on the blog a few times over the years, because it’s very different to the other interiors shops in the area – classically elegant in many ways but with ‘out there’ touches that makes it a more interesting shopping experience. The interior design side of the business has really taken off recently, and looking at their stock and how beautifully they dress the huge salesroom, I’m not surprised, are you?
Also worth mentioning that The Field Kitchen, a superb cafe/deli, is directly attached to Life at Nettlebed. The food is particularly strong here, though you’ll have to nudge a whole battalion of impeccably dressed local mums out the way to get to the counter.
And just to tip you over the edge – what, grabbing your car keys already?! – if you really want to enjoy the holy triumvirate of shopping, yoga and lunchy, Nettlebed is also where you can find Studio One, winners of the Muddy Awards 2015 for Best Yoga/Pilates studio. Amen to that.
