Wouldn’t you though?

Heard of Tiger? It’s basically Denmark’s answer to Ikea – best described as the poshest, most stylish pound shop in the land where über cool and quirky Danish designs are sold in happy-go-lucky candy-coloured stores.

You can buy everything from glitter glue to reading glasses; scented candles to felt fruit baskets – all in rainbow colours and at bargain basement prices – 80 per cent of its products sell for £5 or less.

Tiger currently has 80 stores across the UK, predominantly in the South-East with Milton Keynes the closest in Bucks, and an Oxford branch opens in July. There is also a chance to grab your passport and get it day-stamped in Berkshire because the Reading branch also launched just a few weeks back.

Ten coloured lights on a chain, £5

Tiger doesn’t sell online (sorrrrry) but you can check out all their store products on the website and plot how you’re going to revamp your entire house for under £50.

I used to love the Wandsworth branch when my children were toddlers and it was impossible to go shopping properly ie further afield! Great fun!
