Wouldn’t you though?

During a family get together on New Year’s Day, I had the pleasure of seeing the inside of a relative’s ‘useful’ drawer. You know the kind. Buttons and bows, tickets from that Kim Wilde concert in 1998, and tricksy little cracker presents that just seem too potentially useful to be recycled with alacrity. Once again, in my dream life, all handy items that keep life working smoothly would be on permanent display. On a peg board like this one, perhaps.

Why store your succulents on the kitchen windowsill when they could stand to attention on a birch plywood shelf? I did actually give my aunt a small succulent as a gift, in a charmingly rustic (or so I thought) pot and she told me that she’d put it in the kitchen. If only I’d given her a shelf for display purposes.

Nikki Kreis’s peg boards and shelves are all made out of sustainably-sourced birch plywood, and made not that far from Bucks, in Uxbridge. You can read more about Nikki at Kreisdesign where she also sells her shelves, peg boards and other delights.
