I first wrote about Out of the Dark a year or so ago, but went back for a visit over the summer to see owners Jay and Jade (they are sooooo nice).

If you didn’t see that post, you may not know that Out of the Dark is a High Wycombe charity that supports local young people, helping them to learn a trade, stay off the streets and find their self esteem.

The trade they learn happens to be furniture restoration and you can see the incredible results for yourself. Mid-century classics given a modern twist, and now selling in the front window of Heal’s no less. Mightily impressive stuff.

But if you’re reading this blog you’re probably not a million miles (or at least under an hour’s drive) from Wycombe so you can go along and see what they have in stock for yourself. On the day I visited, I spotted this fantastic nest of G-plan tables (above),  this totally gorgeous chair (above) and a G-plan circular table mid-revamp (I have the same one at home).

I was taken to the warehouse, below, where there is so much furniture it’s incredible, so you can actually flick through an online catalogue now where you can choose your furniture for renovation and select your own colours too.

Definitely worth checking out, not only because it’s a worthy cause but seriously, the stuff is so cool and costs a fraction of what you’d pay in London. Love it.
