Last minute… moi?
Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Christmas features here.
With a nanosecond or two left before Christmas springs upon us like a gamboling lamb – for this is the time of year when hopelessly mixed metaphors are forgiven – I legged it down to Eden Shopping Centre in High Wycombe for my ‘OMG’ panic shop with the kids in tow.
Have you tried to do Christmas shopping with children? Flippin nightmare! Though the Eden Centre makes it slightly easier with its kid-frienldy inflatable chair (though I made it on there first!) and Santa’s Grotto that is mercifully free, unless you feel compelled to buy photos of the guy in the beard (er, nope).
It would be a bit der of me to show everything I’ve bought – my mum and dad and Mr Muddy all read the blog for starters! – but I did see a potential gift-to-family when I came across a brand new Kuoni shop with a customer sitting area that looks waaaaay swankier than my living room.
I managed to pull myself away from my six month to the job in hand, so let me just say…. Build a Bear workshop; Gap underwear; Zara kidswear; and a little visit to Biba in House of Fraser, followed by a placatory visit to Wagamama… you get my drift?!
Still a little bit to do, because there’s only so much cloak-and-dagger you can do with kids around, but with 7 days til Christmas, I’m slowly getting my head around it.
How’s it going for you? Deep breaths, it’s nothing a large G&T can’t solve!
