Thame’s trailblazing concept store, FROM specialises in beautiful gifts locally sourced. Case in point, this stunning nest of measuring jugs in dark navy with handbrushed copper from the brilliant ceramacist Fenella Smith and chef John Whaite.

Table lamps? Pah! These mouth-blown frosted glass ball lamps are waaaay cooler, but then you’d expect from Buckingham-based Muddy Award winners and all round cool cats Secret Messages Interiors. There are three sizes in the one prize – a large, medium and small – and the lights come with a timer function requiring 3 x AA batteries (not included).

I’ve managed to snaffle a family ticket for 5 to the best panto in the region, worth £135 starring Michelle Collins, TOWIE’s Jasmin Walia, Britain’s Got Talent’s La Voix and the local comedian who usually steals the show, Andy Collins. Go to the 5.30pm showing on New Year’s Eve, then dump your exhausted children at home while you go and party!
COOKERY/WINE MASTERCLASS WITH MICHELIN CHEF CHRIS GODFREY, £300
Chris Godfrey is pretty enough to be in a boy band but he’s also a Michelin chef (formerly of The Sir Charles Napier) who’s moved seamlessly into private dining and those brilliant Native Feasts popup supper clubs. For this prize he’ll chat with you on the phone to work out the dish you want to know how to master, come to your house with all the ingredients and show you and up to 5 friends how to it done. Wine expert Greg Jones, also formerly of the Sir Charles Napier, will explain the vino choices to go with the meal. Then you can scoff the lot.
I’ve worked with Prestel for a couple of years because I find their books are just so beautiful and thought-provoking. Great Pubs of London, The Monet Cookbook and It’s A London Thing will be one bundle giveaway (£67) and Oskar, Great Works and Before I Wake Up will be a second giveaway (£42.50).
STEPHEN BULMER CHEF’S TABLE EXPERIENCE, £98
A demonstration 4 course dining experience for two with Stephen Bulmer at The Green Dragon Eco Centre near Quainton. Stephen is widely recognised as one of the leading cookery tutors in the UK. He worked at Le Manoir as Senior Chef de Cuisine, where he was also Chef Director of the Raymond Blanc Cookery School and was awarded the Best Tutor accolade at the 2014 Independent Cookery School Awards. Guests can choose a date to suit them in 2017.
