Superflashy Newsflash!

Our ear is firmly to the ground and these are the rumblings we’re hearing this week…

Big Feastival line up announced

The line-up for 2017’s Big Festival celebrating music, food and family fun has been released into the wild. The event will be held once again on founder and Blur star Alex James’ farm in the Cotswolds on August Bank Holiday weekend (25-27August), with Olly Murs headlining. Superstar chefs Nathan Outlaw, Antonio Carluccio and Cyrus Todiwala will be providing the fry up (it may be a bit more intricate than that) and family entertainment includes children’s TV megastar Justin Fletcher – seriously, that man must be earning a fortune –  and comedy duo Dick & Dom.

Oxford gin festivals go head to head

What can be better than a gin festival? How about TWO gin festivals! After the announcement last month that Oxfords first gin festival (The Gin Festivals UK) will be held this summer on Sat 5 – Sun 6 Aug, offering artisan gins infused with chocolate, elderflower and spice, rival gin festival (Gin Festival Oxford) have now also announced they will be holding their own event two weeks earlier on Fri 21 – Sun 23 July offering exclusive gins available no where else! Sounds like fighting talk to me.

Waddesdon Manor holding new food market

Waddeson Manor in mid Bucks already has very strong foodie associations and now it’s offering a brand new Artisan Food Market that aims to support nearby, small-scale, independent farmers and food producers. On every second Saturday of each month (starting 8 Apr) you can buy your veggies, meats, fish, dairy, and treats in the gorgeous surrounds of this Rothschild chateau.

The Crown, Radnage

A little whisper going around the Bucks/Oxon borders at the mo is the fantastic food at The Crown at Radnage. Quite the buzz about this little corner of the world now with The Sir Charles Napier and The Mash Inn also in the hood. Nosh and enjoy!
