The SuperDuperNewsFlash!

Hello and welcome to the Muddy o’clock Superduper Newsflash. Your headlines today:

Stonor Wonder Woods have reopened!

The fabulous Wonder Woods have just reopened for Spring. Weeeeeeee! (sorry, just had a go on the 50m zipwire there). The Wonder Woods cater for kids from 0-15, so if you have kids, grandkids or friends over, here’s your solution. BTW, more news from Stonor Park too – Gifford’s Circus is setting up its stall there from 13-17 for the first time, a great result given that Stadhampton is no longer a venue. It will be sold out in a flasharoo, so once tickets go on sale, get in there quick.

Norman Jay at Clayton’s Marlow, 1 April

Good Times from Mr Norman Jay, last seen by Mr Muddy in Ibiza last year asleep in the corner of a club while Idris Elba was hard at the decks. I dare say he’ll have roused himself sufficiently by 1 April to DJ at soul rare-groove specialists Clayton’s Marlow. Norman’s an MBE these days for his contribution to DJing, so take your other half along to doff a cap and bust some dad-dancing til the early hours.

Chilterns Food & Drink Festival – booking now open

We’ve been busy planning our foodie route with the Chiltern’s Food & Drink Festival, which starts on 25 March. New to book is a 5 course tasting menu at Frithsden Vineyard,  a walk through the Chess Valley with lunch at the beautiful Chenies Manor and campfire bread making in Chalfont St Peters. I’ll do em all!

The Yurt at Nicholson’s nursery, now open

Always happy to find a new place to partake in a coffee, cake and (yeah, go on then) lunch. Nicholson’s nursery in North Oxfordshire is absolutely stunning and this yurt is part of slow expansion in its lifestyle offering. Brand spanking new – I’m off to see it today so will report back anon.

The Little Welly Goes Wild, Sat 24 – Sun 25 June

The event for small people and their families, and it sells out waaay in advance every year so here’s your early shout out. It’s an epic obstacle course of 30 individual challenges over 3k of streams, woodland and mud near Henley. The washing won’t be pretty but you’ll have a blast getting muddy. If you miss out on tickets for the Oxfordshire version, there are also events in Surrey and Herts this year.

Nellie & Dove, Deddington, opens Weds 8 Mar

We’re very excited about the opening of Nellie & Dove. It’s about premium womenswear, designer pieces and emerging talent and if the website and this witty window display is anything to go by, it’s going to be mighty fun flashing the cash here.

Blake in Chesham, 1 April

Tuxe and tonsils alert! Those handsome Brit Award-winning warblers Blake are coming to strolling into Chesham for a show on 1 April at The Elgiva. Take your mum if you can be sure she won’t throw her knickers at the stage.

Little Mix summer shows, book now

Tickets are on sale people! Yeah yeah, these young girls keep forgetting to put their clothes on and what kind of role model are they for our daughters yadayada, BUT may I just remind you that we grew up with Madonna?! Grit your teeth, let your daughter splatter her face in make-up an  sing along to Shout Out to My Ex. You’ll love it!
