Yoga, your fave band, and 6 surprises from Car Fest
Vegan chefs, hair styling, kids arts and crafts, teens driving lessons... expect the unexpected at Chris Evans' CarFest events in Hants this summer.
Missed out on Goodwood’s Festival of Speed and Stonor’s Supercar Sunday? Don’t blow a carburettor… there’s something even racier coming up… Here’s six reasons to buckle up for the music, food and motor fest that is Chris Evan’s CarFest.
CarFest is coming to Laverstoke Park Farm, Hants (27-29 Aug) and is organised by the inimitable Chris Evans, so you get the vibe… fancy dress, zany cars and generally bonkers goings-on.
It’s family friendly but there’s also lot of people who go without kids… and it’s not just for petrolheads! With lots of music, food and stars, there’s something for everyone. And did we mention it’s all to raise money for charity? CarFest has raised over £16 million for BBC Children in Need and other Children Charities!
Intrigued? Here’s six more reasons to why you should come to CarFest….
There’s an epic line-up this year as it’s the festival’s 10th birthday. At CarFest North, All Saints, Basement Jaxx DJ Set, McFly and Tom Grennan took to the stage, while down South its Rick Astley, Faithless, The Charlatans, All Saints (above), James Blunt and The Magic Numbers. That should be most tastes catered for…
This is an uber family friendly festival with little digger fans offered their ultimate dream… the Mega Playground of tractors, trucks, diggers and construction equipment. There’s also bushcraft and forest school, arts and crafts, driving lessons for 10-17 year olds (yes, you heard that right!!), and up North, there was show jumping!
Naturally, CarFest is THE ultimate car heaven! From vintage classics, to F1 and Grand Prix to famous movie cars. You’ll be watching cars, driving them, meeting drivers… the full (fan) belt and braces.
Yes – unbelievably you might actually get some time out to do the sort of stuff you never get round to at home. Yoga in a yurt, massage and styling by the ‘Rockabella’s’ (above) for some retro vintage glam. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Not a greasy burger in sight (unless of course, you like that sort of grub…). The food line-up is right up there with the cars and music – there’s the Kitchen Stage with stars from GBBO and Saturday Kitchen – names like the Bosh brothers, Melissa Hemsley and Jose Pizarro, but also a farmers market, food trucks and bars galore.
Whether your hero is a vegan chef, a racing driver or a sporting legend, pack your autograph book – or perhaps practice your selfies… CarFest is a veritable celeb fest. And of course there’s the dynamo himself, Chris Evans.
Fancy it? We have TWO PAIRS of tickets for Friday 27 August up for grabs in Reader Treats.
