Hot off the press!
Want the superhot goss on new pubs, private clubs and pop ups? Here you go then!
Heard the bubbling news? You have now!
The Cherry Tree in Olney opens
And isn’t it pretty? The latest Oakmann Inns pub opened its doors yesterday in a gorgeous honey-stone building in central Olney – the first new pub in the town for decades. Think chandeliers, alcoves, parquet floors, wood panelling, open plan kitchens and a whole lot of excitement in North Buckinghamshire.
Soho House in… Berkshire!
Soho House is planning to open a new outpost in Lower Basildon, and I reckon the revamp of the elegant 18th century Grotto (mentioned by name by Jerome K Jerome in Three Men and a Boat) will be pretty special. Soho Group has submitted planning permission to turn the riverside mansion, close into a boutique hotel.
A National Trust supper club?
Apparently so! The lovely Upton House on the Oxon/Warcs border is holding a series of dining experiences, starting with a tasting menu with gin cocktails and jazz (niiiiiiiice) on Fri 8 June.
And another supper club!
They’re hitting their stride aren’t they?! The Sneaky Supper Club at the Isis Farmhouse was a roaring success despite the Beast from the East turning up uninvited and there’s a new one popping up on Fri 27 April at an undisclosed location in Oxford.
