The Alice is our pick of the Oxford parties, with a four-course tasting menu (including grilled scallops with sea vegetables and shellfish butter sauce, and beef fillet with spinach, confit potato and bone marrow sauce &#8211; excuse me while I wipe drool from my chin) followed by The Randolph&#8217;s New Year&#8217;s Eve party, with music and dancing until the wee hours and a glass of fizz at midnight. £140pp. </p>

<p>Nothing like a seven-course tasting menu from an ex-Ritz chef, drinks, dancing and live music to kick off a brand new year. The Old Crown Coaching Inn will be holding a New Year&#8217;s Party in their fabulous renovated Ballroom to see out 2022 &#8211; and if you don&#8217;t want to book a taxi, you can book one of their on-site bedrooms to stagger back to, and then enjoy a New Year&#8217;s Day brunch the next morning, including a Smoked Salmon Carving Station (!). £95 per person for the NYE Party (£140 including a sommelier wine pairing), £30pp for NYD Brunch. </p>

<p>Start the new year in style at Raymond Blanc&#8217;s gaff. Dig out your Venetian mask for Le Manoir&#8217;s Masquerade Ball, featuring a feast of dishes and fine wines (naturally), live music and a midnight fireworks display. It&#8217;s pricey at £520pp, but we&#8217;re starting as we mean to go on. </p>

<p>One night not enough for you? Book yourself into this riverside spa hotel for a Champagne and canapé reception, five-course gala dinner, fireworks and dancing on 31 Jan, followed by a full English breakfast to nurse away the hangover the next day. Once you&#8217;ve spent the 1 Jan however you please (countryside walks, spa treatments, naps), return to the restaurant for more Champagne, canapés and a three-course dinner before retiring to bed. Packages from £520 per room, per night. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.thegreyhoundletcombe.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Greyhound Inn</a>, Letcombe Regis </h2>



<p>Foodies should get themselves booked in for the New Year Celebration Dinner at Muddy Award-winner Greyhound Inn in Letcome Regis. Head Chef Head Chef Martin Sherriff has created a lip-smacking six-course meal with a welcome glass of English sparkling wine, and one at the end to toast in 2023. Dinner is £95 per person, in tables of four or more only, and must be pre-booked &#8211; if you can&#8217;t nab a table, the bar is open to everyone all evening, so you can drop by for a celebratory tipple before Dry Jan. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://sevenstarsatmarshbaldon.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Seven Stars</a>, Marsh Baldon</h2>



<p>Spend your night celebrating at The Seven Stars with their warming three-course set menu, fire dancing in the garden, live music, late-night bacon baps and a Prosecco toast at midnight. Can&#8217;t argue with that! Tickets are £40 per person and booked direct with the team.</p>

Take yourself off to bed to wake up bright and fresh (ahem) the next day for a full English and use of the spa facilities. Bliss. From £329pp. </p>

<p>Don&#8217;t fancy cooking on NYE? Book yourself dinner out at The Wavendon Arms for £70pp for three courses &#8211; I&#8217;d be having the beetroot and mulled wine tarte tatin, slow-cooked pork belly and scallops, and a Lotus Biscoff chocolate bomb to finish. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://missendenabbey.co.uk/new-years-eve/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Missenden Abbey</a>, Great Missenden</h2>



<p>Dig out your sequins &#8211; Missenden Abbey has chosen a Glitz and Glam theme for this year&#8217;s black tie dinner party, and they don&#8217;t do themes by halves. For £99pp you&#8217;ll get delicious four-course dinner (including a cheese course &#8211; consider me sold), a glass of fizz on arrival and for a midnight toasts, a pulled pork roll with caramelised apple at 12.30 to keep you going and plenty of music and dancing. If you fancy staying over, two New Year’s Eve tickets plus accommodation (which includes breakfast) will only cost you £260.</p>

For £65 per person you&#8217;ll get a starter, a main with separate side and a dessert &#8211; as well as a glass of The Ivy&#8217;s own Champagne to wash it down with. </p>
