<p>A fixture at the Henley Regatta, the <strong>Feast Over Flame</strong> pop-up dining club is planning to set Marlow alight in May. The gourmet dinner dates will begin with a private boat-ride to a mystery location on the Marlow riverside, where you’ll tuck into a five-course seasonal menu and cocktails plus fine wines from the bar. For those who want to push the boat out even further, there’s a wine pairing option alongside each course. I’ll have the&nbsp;grilled fillet of beef and triple-cooked truffle chips please! Feast Over Flame runs from <strong>Thu – Sat throughout May</strong> and <strong>costs £95pp</strong> – including the boat trip, but you’ll need to ship yourself home.</p>

<p>For those looking for something more exclusive, <a href="http://www.secretadventures.org/contact" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Secret Adventures</strong></a> is hosting private pop-up dinners this summer at its beautiful woodland spot near Goring in South Oxfordshire. <strong>For £95pp</strong>, you’ll enjoy a guided walk through the woods followed by a three-course woodland feast served at candlelit tables, with marshmallow toasting round the campfire for afters. The price includes a welcome cocktail and two glasses of vino – but the hosts are flexible, so you can bring further refreshments if required! Bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis, so start cooking up your summer plans now. The team can accommodate parties of between 12 and 50 guests for lunch and dinner sittings throughout weekdays/weekends <strong>from Apr to Sep</strong>.</p>

<p>Things are looking shipshape for <strong>The Oarsman</strong>’s annual summer supper club in chichi Marlow. This year’s superstar chef is Dave Wall from the much-garlanded Unruly Pig gastropub in Suffolk. Instead of a kitchen takeover, as before, the July feast will be a collaboration between Dave Wall and The Oarsman’s head chef Scott Smith, who will each cook three dishes on the six-course menu. The pair are drawing up their gastronomic feasts as we speak – so the full details are under-wraps. But my spies in the kitchen tell me that pigs trotters and bacon on toast – The Oarsman’s signature dish – is likely to feature. Tuck in on <strong>Mon 29 July, £60pp</strong>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Outdoor dining club Nomadic is turning six – so, naturally, it’s throwing a party. Its birthday woodland feast will be cooked over an open fire by a menu of MasterChef Professional winners:&nbsp;Tom Hamblet (2023), Nikita Pathakji (2022), Dan Lee (2021), Stuart Deeley (2019) and Laurence Henry (2018). The four-course menu is secret but there are meat and vegetarian options, with multiple sittings on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August, at £165pp. Nomadic is also running its popular midsummer feast in the Chilterns between 04 May and 21 July, at £125pp. It’s a hot ticket so nab yours pronto.&nbsp;If you can’t leave it up to chance, Nomadic also runs private events for those looking for a bespoke supper club.</p>

No iPhones at the table please! To get you in the chillaxing zone, the evening kicks off with a glass of fizz and canapes followed by a four-course feast of sustainable produce – the local venison is a house specialty – washed down with a well-stocked drinks list. Muddy can see why the hosts suggest rounding off the night with a rest in the hand-built tree seat… Opening night on <strong>20 Apr </strong>already has a waiting list – so be quick to nab a table for the next available slot on <strong>18 May</strong>, with more dates to be released over the season. <strong>Tickets cost £125pp</strong>.</p>

<p>Head to the Oxon/Glos border for a new pop-up-style restaurant from Adam Thomas, the man on a mission to bring East London street food to the Cotswolds. Adam previously ran The Pit Kitchen with brother James near Chipping Norton but has upped sticks and is now going solo with a new restaurant based in a barn near Moreton-in-Marsh. Adam tells me <strong>The Pit Kitchen 2.0</strong> will have the same vibe, so expect lots of Turkish and Middle Eastern flavours and chicken shawarmas (that’s a posh kebab), but it will be bigger and better. The precise location is top secret for now, so keep an eye on Adam’s <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pitkitchencotswolds" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Insta</a> page for the full scoop in the coming weeks. Prices will remain affordable – around £8.50 for starters and £16 for mains – and it will be open <strong>Wed to Sun</strong>.</p>

<p>Hot off the press! Wild Feasts at Oxmoor Farm in Great Missenden is back for the 2024 summer season. This year’s merrymaking starts on 4 May and the Chiltern banquets will be cooked by ten resident chefs including Eleanor Henson, the head chef at Skye Gyngell’s Spring, and former Great British Menu contestant Amber Francis. Wild Feasts has been such a sell-out in recent years that the al fresco season has been extended into the chillier winter months – so if you can’t get a table in the summer, you can head to new indoor space The Barn, where wood-burners and blankets will keep things cosy. To give back, a discretionary £1 on the bill will be donated to Medical Aid Palestine.</p>

<p>Muddy knows it’s not always easy to get a babysitter, so if you’ve ended the week slightly frazzled (who doesn’t?) and fancy a few drinks and a pizza with children in tow, then head to Stonor Park near Henley for its late-night fun in June. Its Hideway Tipi is handily next to the Tumblestone Hollow play area, so you can enjoy date night with a wood-fired pizza and a few drinks while the kids tire themselves out in the adventure playground. The Hideaway Tipi will stay open until 9pm (time for bed children!) on selected Fridays in June, and the dates will be confirmed soon. Sounds like a win-win to Muddy – that Aperol Spritz has our name on it.
