A doggy star is born
Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest features here.
Does your pooch have a passion for the stage? There’s an opportunity for a dog with star quality to take a role in La Boheme at the Wycombe Swan in April. Don’t worry, it’s not a singing role (though I’m sure your talented canine can totally nail that top C), he or she plays to type as Muzetta’s pet for the 4 March performance of the much-loved opera.
As a bonus, you get to dress up and go on stage as a performer too, primarily to make sure your pet doesn’t start spending a penny, wandering off or getting frisky with the soprano’s leg mid-aria.
The dog needs to be well-behaved and small, but the producers aren’t fussy about breed (opera being egalitarian these days!).
To audition your dog, send a photograph to Sadie Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org including your contact number and address as well as the breed, height, weight, age and name of your dog. If you’re successful, she’ll contact you a week before the 4 March performance.
And please, let us know at Muddy if you’re the chosen ones, and send us a picture. Signed of course!
