Love Muddy? *Please vote for me!*
Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest features here.
So the first round voting has finished in the Muddy Awards 2014!
Thank you to the thousands of you who nominated your favourite local businesses. I’m going to be busy totting up the numbers and dragging my screaming children out to delis, pubs, fashion boutiques and beauticians in the next couple of weeks (think of it as a kind of pre-teenage work experience), checking them all out before the Final round of voting starts on 23 April.
Now that the voting for your favourite businesses has ended, I do have a favour to ask of my own (*simper* *plead*).
I’ve come across something called the BiB awards 2014 (Brilliance in Blogging, doncha know) – they’re pretty big these days and there are 3 categories that I’d really like to enter but I need to be nominated by as many people as possible so that I can get through to the next stage. The categories are Outstanding; Innovate; and Writer.
As you know, Muddy Stilettos is incredibly niche – a regional blog that focuses strongly on local fabulosity – so I’m always up against it to compete with blogs that have a general or national focus. Getting onto Awards shortlists (or dear Lord, winning them, though that miracle is still eluding me) is therefore a big deal for Muddy, and showing that I’m competing on a much bigger stage really helps, as it proves what you and I already know – that I’m totally devoted to you oooo hoooo, oo-oo-hoo-hooooooo [brush tissue into water and stare at the chin dimple].
The nominations close at the end of this week – I know, I know I’m horribly late onto this – so it really is a case of read this post, click here and vote, otherwise you’ll forget and I’ll be sobbing uncontrollably. For weeks, people, for WEEKS!
The voting process is quick and easy. The only thing they’ll ask you which might be a drag is your favourite post but if you can’t be arsed to look back, just use these short cuts!
Just choose one of them – it’s too much of a hass otherwise.
Anyone who votes, a massive thank you from me. I recognise it’s some precious time out of your day and really do appreciate it.
