New Michelin star restaurant in Oxfordshire!

Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Buckinghamshire features here.

Ah joy.

My favourite restaurant, the Sir Charles Napier, nestled up in Spriggs Alley (near Chinnor) has just been awarded its first Michelin star.

Well deserved too. The food has always been gorgeous and the setting is lovely – fantastic gardens with weird and wonderful sculptures and a cosy pub bar at the front of house.

Julie, the owner, only found out about the award last week, so I’d get in fast before the news really starts to leak out. Rock up for a £17.50 daytime two course treat or blow the budget on an evening slot. There’s usually a bit of celeb spotting to add to the fun too. Martin O’Neill was there when we last went (‘Who the ****?’ I hear you say. Ask your husbands!).

And whatever you do, please let us all know what you think about it – the comment section is there for a reason!

I went to The Sir Charles Napier for my birthday last year and can also give it the thumbs up. This year we went to The Nut Tree at Murcott – definitely worth a visit too.
