Feeling hungry for decent locally produced food?

It’s the last day for the Ten Mile Menu competition tomorrow, so I’ll be down at the Vale Harvest monthly market in Haddenham with the Ten Mile crew between 9am-1pm, collecting a list of the final days’ entrants.

In case you’ve forgotten what the prize is, or have just joined Muddy Stilettos, it’s a brilliant, timely prize, especially in the wake of the ongoing horsemeat scandal.

Up for grabs is £200 of award-winning Chilterns foods from local producers who really care about provenance, quality and animal welfare. Eggs, beef, pork, sausages, organic vegetables, cakes, milk, yoghurts – all available, with free delivery.

You can of course enter from the comfort of your home by clicking here until midday Sunday, when the competition closes. Otherwise, come down to Banks Park in Haddenham and come and say hi to yours truly – I’d love to have a chat – and also meet some of the independent producers who Ten Mile represents.

One thing though – don’t expect to see me in make up and stilettos on a Saturday morning. It’s furry boots and industrial strength coffee all the way baby!
