Boots No7 is the latest company to clock that women past their twenties don’t like being sold beauty products by models barely out of braces.

So they are continuing the advertising trend of using ‘real women’ to talk to us. These women may be a bit wrinkly, or unable to squeeze more than one buttock into a size 10 trouser, but they’re people we can relate to.

Take a look at these brand new ads and see what you think. The idea is a good one – take women who might not wear much make up, who lead busy lives, give them a makeover and ask them to tell you pre-and post make up how they feel. Importantly, the results are un-retouched, just like life. So how they look is exactly what we see. This is Ali’s story, quite interesting in that she’s a full-time working mum in a demanding job with 2 kids and obviously on the older side of the make up spectrum. Love the before and after of Yasmin, she’s really transformed Katie doesn’t usually wear much make up and is naturally pretty but I like what they do with her eyes Ade, 29 year old, frankly already stunning and modelly with long limbs. Even so, a massive difference before and after.
