A day at Waddesdon with the kids
I was up at Waddesdon Manor a few weeks ago and was so pleased with my photo I thought I’d share it!
There’s always so much fun stuff going on at the Manor (did you make it to Feast on the weekend?) but actually the day I came with the kids we just hung out on the back lawn, doing rolypolies, playing catch, laughing a lot and, er, bickering quite a bit too (The Waltons we are not!).
The children never seem to tire of looking at marble genitalia and bottoms…
and on a less pervy note, the aviary and it’s exotic, rare birds.
I never tire of Waddesdon’s Le Carrosse sculpture…
…. or the flower displays
So really it’s just a no-brainer for a lovely day out. If you’re coming from further afield, it’s worth knowing that there’s a very good woodland playground that leads down to The Stables and a casual child-friendly cafe/restaurant. Also if you’re looking for ‘extras’, there’s a new Henry Moore drawings exhibition spanning seventy years down in The Stables gallery space (I mean, that’s amazing) plus from next month there will be children’s tours of the house starting up once again. See you there!
