Self-care quiz time!

Here at Muddy we love wellbeing and we love a quiz, so a wellbeing quiz? We've all done it - but how will you get on? Tot up your scores and let us know.

The clocks are going back this weekend which means an extra hour of precious free time on Sunday, woohoo! Although, yep, we know there’s always washing to do, emails to answer, children to wrangle etc etc but this time why not ring-fence those 60 minutes for yourself for a change? And you can use that time to try our enlightening self-care quiz.

We all completed it recently during a very interesting session at Muddy HQ with Kirsten Hanlon from Retreat For Mothers, who runs Oxon-based workshops and events for frazzled females. Kirsten came in to talk to us about the importance of self-care. Over the last year this buzz phrase/hashtag is everywhere but what does it actually mean?

Well, says Kirsten, it’s not about dropping loads of dosh on costly cashmere or candles, or downing tools and buggering off on a lavish spa day at every opportunity (er, more’s the pity).

Successful self-care – the type that doesn’t involve loads of money, time or guilt –  focuses on those small daily moments where you look after yourself, rather than everybody else, for a change. And we’ll all have our own versions of what those things are. For me it’s things like always making the bed so I come home to a serene bedroom (sounds basic but often in the morning I have to leave mine in a mess to get everyone else out of the door on time). And lighting candles, giving myself a facial and putting in expensive bath oil for a bath – I’m always showering because it’s quicker so a bath is my sign to stop and look after myself for an hour.

The questionnaire really made us stop and think about being a little kinder to ourselves on a more frequent basis, and taking care of the small things in life. Wanna give it a go? Let us know how you get on – and if it prompts any big revelations.
