Calling all creatives!
Networking used to be naff but new collective The Creative Duck is anything but. Plus they sell stylish gifts handmade locally by their talented members.
How’s this for a cool idea? The Creative Duck is a collective of largely female creative bods around Henley and Marlow who offer talks, workshops, events, training for small businesses and even an online boutique selling their members’ groovy wares. The founders all have really impressive CVs working for huge brands so they really know what they’re talking about.
As I know from experience, when you have a creative job the opportunity to bounce ideas around is invaluable – but not always easy when you work for yourself, from your kitchen table (Tickle the cat isn’t great in brainstorms to be honest). And with Muddy’s ethos being all about creating a community of like-minded locals, this one might float your boat.
If you run a small creative biz and haven’t got your head round digital marketing yet, you might be interested in the upcoming bluffer’s guide to SEO talk on 19 March. Plus there’s a PR one on 29 April. Then from 27 June – 1 July there’s the Henley Creative Week in the Old Fire Station Gallery in Henley, with its workshops, talks, children’s events and pop-up shop.
And speaking of the merch, it’s all lovely artisan stuff, won’t break the bank and gets a big Muddy ‘shop local’ tick. Here are a few of our favourite things.
