Wouldn’t You Though?

£52 for a kids bikini? Ridiculous I know – I don’t even spend that on my own – but you have to admit it’s supercute. Happily it acts its age. I don’t like kids bikinis that look like child approximations of adult styles, but this one has lovely child-like bows and frills, and a generous cut that feels sensible for 2-10 year olds. No surprises that it’s from Paul Smith, who always manages to straddle the urbane and cool with common sense.
Also teacher’s pet sticker for Stella McCartney’s environmentally friendly two piece (4-10 year olds, £48) that hints at exotic to Zanzibar (or in my case, um, Majorca) and on the high street, and Zara’s floral bikini for a much less button-clenching £12.99.
Let the summer commence!
