big-bang-impact-protective-thin-and-light-case-for-ipad-airWhy did I not know about this before? I’ve just discovered the Logitech Big Bang, an ipad and ipad mini cover that will survive even a nuclear explosion (well, nearly). I have gone through a series of very prettily-coloured apple covers over the years, that end up fraying or getting super filthy because I have three disgusting children who are careless and clumsy and still don’t wash their filthy hands enough, even though I tell them at all times of the day and night not to be monstrous little… Whoa, sorry, just lost myself there for a second (*breathe*).

Well, they can be as revolting as they like now, because this Big Bang cover is spill, bump and scratch proof, and can be dropped from a height of 1.4m without affecting an ipad. I know this because no sooner did I tell my children about its purported bounciness than my youngest held it over his head and threw it on my wooden floor. Nice work!

You’d think the cover was like some massive rubber monstrosity, but actually it’s thinner than my side profile (oh come on, give me a break here) at 16mm, and you don’t have to take the cover off to take photos, videochat or connect to the ipad. Best of all, it comes in graphite to hide the mud, dirt and general smeariness of children, or alternatively magma red if you’re feeling a bit bullish about your family’s computer hygiene. Frankly in the Muddy household it’s the 21st century version of Pyrex. We salute it!
