Wouldn’t you though?

Hanna Francis, a Scandanavian designer based in Oxfordshire, is developing quite a following in our damp isle. A finalist in the Muddy Stilettos Awards (round of *applause*), her contemporary, clever tables, lightshades and accessories use clean uncluttered lines with simple graphics or patterns to create really striking pieces.
This table (£395 incl VAT), part of the Viiluja range, is created using the end grain of the birch ply to give its distinctive look. The graphic patterns come in rose, flowers or butterflies, but Francis can also do a bespoke design if you’re after something specific.
The Viiluja range also includes a low coffee table version (below).
Other pieces from Hanna Francis that I love are these lampshades (from £165) …
… and these hangers (£65, in walnut, oak or white), though I know if I bought them I’d end up hiding their beauty under gazillions of kids school coats and accessories I can’t quite be arsed to put away in the cupboard. But that’s just me and my amazing propensity to create mess wherever I go.
Francis is stocked in quite a few shops in the area now, including FROM (winner of Best Gift Shop at the Muddys and based in Thame), and Arts at the Old Fire Station (Oxford), though I’m not sure if the tables are sold in any high street. Anyway, have a gander at her website here and then start plotting your purchases.
