You might have seen the trademark turquoise van bombing around leaving the delicious smell of coffee in its wake, but expert brewer (and Muddy Awards finalist)&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/anonymouscoffeeco/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Anonymous Coffee</a>&nbsp;has laid down some roots. Its brand new café and roastery can be found in the Manor Farm units at Peppard Common near&nbsp;Henley-on-Thames. It&#8217;s open for takeaway, beans and the gear to brew yourself, weekdays 8-3pm and Saturdays 8-12pm. Also find Anonymous coffee at Henley&#8217;s <a href="https://www.thelockdownlodge.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lockdown Lodge</a> dining pop-up until 13 Aug &#8211; you can pop in for coffee from 8am then there&#8217;s street food from midday-9pm (no need to book) or you can book in for a taster menu. Headington based coffee company&nbsp;<a href="https://www.newgroundcoffee.com/locations" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NewGround</a>&nbsp;has set up shop, this time in the former Russell &amp; Bromley on Oxford’s&nbsp;Ship Street. The newly-opened coffee&nbsp;and&nbsp;wine bar (aha, I see I have your attention) is offering ethically-sourced java and a wide selection of natural wines. It&#8217;s joined&nbsp;Jericho Cheese Company&nbsp;and&nbsp;Crosstown Oxford Doughnut Shop&nbsp;– can you think of two better pairings for your coffee and wine? Nope, me neither.



Swish new hub <a href="https://www.unityplace.co.uk/food-drink/bakers-room/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Unity Place</a> in central Milton Keynes (which is reportedly costing £150m to build and will house the new Santander UK technology hub) will open with a cocktail bar and small plates eatery plus the Baker&#8217;s Room, a café serving decent coffee from 7.30am (weekdays). Alongside the flat whites you can grab your favourite sarnie to takeaway for lunch plus there&#8217;s pastries and bread, all made on site. Baker&#8217;s Room will also offer masterclasses for wannabee bakers and plans to donate unsold bread to the on-site microbrewery. Talk about squaring the circle. It&#8217;s mooted to open in September.

The new <a href="https://www.bucks.ac.uk/news/bnu-welcomes-you-our-brand-new-garden-cafe" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Garden Café</a> at Buckingham New University opened this summer and it&#8217;s a beauty. It&#8217;s open to students, staff and the general public (yay!), so you can potter along with a laptop and look studious while sipping your cappuccino. Forget paninis &#8211; this is next-gen student food, with sustainable, healthy and imaginative high on the agenda &#8211; think toasted rye with Parma ham, honey, pear and whipped sorrel ricotta, and the like (but also pretzels with chocolate ganache, hazelnuts &amp; strawberries). Yum. Open 7 days, 9am-7pm weekdays and 9am-3pm weekends.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

<a href="https://leavetheherdbehind.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Black Sheep Coffee</a> is adding to its roster of coffee shops this summer with the opening of a branch in <a href="https://leavetheherdbehind.com/blogs/locations/eden-shopping-centre" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">High Wycombe&#8217;s Eden Centre</a> hot on the heels of the unveiling of a new <a href="https://leavetheherdbehind.com/blogs/locations/oxford-high-street" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oxford branch</a>, having relocated from George Street to the high street where Edinburgh Woollen Mill used to be. Meanwhile, over at Patch, Wycombe&#8217;s co-working space, the workers are being caffeine fuelled in style thanks to the opening of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/djangosspecialtycoffee/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Django&#8217;s Speciality Coffee House</a> (above). Go for a Greek coffee if you want the real deal.

Amersham&#8217;s new eatery that took the spot vacated by&nbsp;Côte in Old Amersham’s The Broadway is settling in well. It’s called&nbsp;<a href="https://www.amershamhouse.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Amersham House</a>&nbsp;and has striking dark exterior and lime green café chairs plus a simple and crowd pleasing menu (think salads, grilled meat and fish and a brunch menu – hallelujah) and coffee! Make my table the teal banquette in the window.



An Oxford café that creates gorgeous buddha bowls, quiches, salads and cakes from surplus food waste has opened a second location in Oxford to cope with high demand. The&nbsp;<a href="https://www.waste2taste.co.uk/cafe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Waste2Taste café</a>&nbsp;opened this spring in Cowley’s Shotover View, and is open Tues-Thurs 9.30am-2.30pm with daily specials based on what’s available. It also has a kindness menu with free dishes bought by customers who want to treat someone less fortunate.



<a href="https://www.hampersfoodandwine.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hampers Café</a>&nbsp;in&nbsp;Woodstock&nbsp;reopened this spring after a little TLC from the new owners. The space looks gloriously provincial with lots of original pieces of artwork hanging on sunshine yellow walls. I’ll be taking my coffee at the table by the window – until they receive their licence, that is. Then I’ll be trading the coffee in for a cheeky rosé. In the meantime, pop along to sample all sorts of delicious local goodies.
