<p>If you love <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/pubs-inns/review-greyhound-inn-pub-restaurant-beaconsfield/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Greyhound </a>in Beaconsfield as much as we do (the Michelin guide and AA crew are huge fans too), you’re in for a treat this spring. Owners Daniel Crump and wife Margriet Vandezande-Crump, who already have stellar combined CVs behind them, are set to cut the ribbon on a new, more casual dining spot in Beaconsfield.<a href="https://oldtownbistrobeaconsfield.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Old Town Bistro </a>will cook up Brit classics for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Weds – Sat, with epic Sunday roasts to look forward to. Just save room for the house ‘OTB&#8217; sundae afterwards. Old Town Bistro will celebrate local produce just as its elegant big sister does, and expect the same warm welcome that The Greyhound gang is known for. Watch this space for the Muddy review. </p>



<p>Meanwhile over in Oxfordshire, <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/restaurants/michelin-star-winners-near-you/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">2026 Michelin Bib Gourmand</a> and AA rosette holder <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/review-the-yurt-at-nicholsons/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Yurt at Nicholsons</a> is also expanding its everyday eating offerings. The previously trailer-based Tiny Café is moving indoors and transforming into The Green Café, which will serve seasonal light bites and bakes by local suppliers, as well as cracking coffee. They’re taste testing currently and the new café will open on <strong>28 Mar</strong>, the same day as <a href="https://www.rosara.co.uk/events/spring-fair-2026" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Rosara at Nicolsons 2026 spring fair</a>. <p>To complete the holy trinity of spring culinary openings, <a href="https://bear-st.com/en-ch" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bear Street Bakery</a> at <a href="https://www.thebicestercollection.com/bicester-village/en/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bicester Village</a> swung open its sugar-dusted van doors earlier this week. The Swiss bakery is famed for its inventive, devilishly moreish cookies (roasted tahini chocolate chip is apparently to die for), not to mention top tier vegan creations and seasonal specials. Promising “freshly baked happiness”, the combo of gooey cookie plus retail therapy is right up our (Bear) street. Even better, you can have a great hair day while you’re at it. <a href="https://www.thebicestercollection.com/bicester-village/en/brands/dyson/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dyson </a>has also landed at Bicester Village, with three beauty styling stations allowing you to tinker and test the brand’s latest tech. Key buys include £100 off the Dyson Airstrait™ straightener and dryer (as a former Beauty Director, I can confirm it’s a true marvel). There’s deals for days and demos of Dyson vacuums too. All the better for hoovering up those cookie crumbs. </p>

<p>It might seem bonkers to talk panto in *checks calendar* March, but <a href="https://www.atgtickets.com/venues/aylesbury-waterside-theatre/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Aylesbury Waterside Theatre</a>’s is considered one of the best in the business, and last year’s production is fittingly up for a sweep of awards. If you saw <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/xmas/jack-beanstalk-panto-review-aylesbury-waterside/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><em>Jack and the Beanstalk</em></a>, you’ll agree that former <em>Eastenders </em>star Nigel Harman more than deserves his nomination as Best Villain at the 2026 UK Pantomime Awards. The tunes were, as usual, on point, and as such David Hart is in the running for Best Sound. And to top that, it’s nominated in the overall Best Pantomime category too. <h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-a-boost-for-youth-wellbeing-in-oxfordshire">A boost for youth wellbeing in Oxfordshire</h2>

<p>Bicester-based youth wellbeing and suicide prevention charity <a href="https://www.naishouse.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nai’s House </a>believes that prevention beats intervention when it comes to looking after our young people’s mental health. The organisation is launching a new programme later this month to give young adults the tools to support each other’s mental health in a confident, safe way, so that they know how to respond in a crisis or regulate difficult emotions. The free<a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FVypOA70vOHclMGcEKewuJpjEf2ikRAP/view" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Allies </a>training and workshops run on the week of <strong>30 Mar</strong> and <strong>6 Apr</strong>, aimed at those aged 14 – 24, and will incorporate peer mentor training and sessions to help young people recognise and respond to self-harm or suicidal thoughts.
