<p>Despite his background in fine dining (the likes of Theresa May have been spotted at his eponymous restaurant in <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-relais-henley-henley-on-thames/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Relais Henley</a>), Dominic Chapman is not afraid to serve up robust, comforting classics – so the star of BBC2&#8217;s <em><a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0071y6r" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Great British Menu</a></em> is the local chef we turned to for some fail-safe Shrove Tuesday inspo. This easy&nbsp;pancake&nbsp;recipe Dom shared with Muddy from his collection on <em><a href="https://www.greatbritishchefs.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Great British Chefs</a></em> is wonderfully&nbsp;<a href="https://www.greatbritishchefs.com/collections/easy-recipes">simple</a>&nbsp;and perfect for cooking with&nbsp;<a href="https://www.greatbritishchefs.com/collections/kids-recipes">kids</a>. Make up a big batch for Pancake Day and get flipping, but make sure you don&#8217;t get them stuck on the ceiling.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-pancake-batter">PANCAKE BATTER</h2>



<ul>
<li>110g of plain flour</li>



<li>2&nbsp;eggs</li>



<li>200ml of milk</li>



<li>75ml of water</li>



<li>50g of&nbsp;butter</li>



<li>1 pinch of&nbsp;salt</li>
</ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-pancake-recipe-method">PANCAKE RECIPE METHOD</h2>



<p>Mix the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl, make a well in the middle of the flour and crack in the eggs. Mix to combine, then gradually whisk in the milk and water until you have a smooth batter.</p>



<p>Place a frying pan over a medium heat and add a knob of butter. Add a thin layer of batter to coat the base of the pan, cook until the bottom of the pancake is golden then flip over and cook the other side.</p>



<p>Once the pancake is cooked, remove from the pan and drain off any excess butter. Repeat the process until all of the batter is used up.</p>



<p>Serve the pancakes immediately, finished with a sprinkling of caster sugar and a good squeeze of lemon juice.</p>

<li>10oz plain flour</li>



<li>2 tsp icing sugar</li>



<li>3 eggs</li>



<li>1 egg yolk</li>



<li>100ml full-fat milk</li>



<li>2 tablespoons melted butter</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-pancake-recipe-method-0">PANCAKE RECIPE METHOD</h2>



<p>Sift the flour and icing sugar into a bowl and set aside.</p>



<p>Beat the milk and eggs together until fluffy.</p>



<p>Fold in the flour and sugar and stir in the melted butter until you have a smooth batter.</p>



<p>Heat a frying pan, add a knob of butter and cook on each side until golden and slightly crispy. Done!</p>
