<p>The newest, and most luxe, kid on the private members&#8217; club block in Bucks &amp; Oxon, Estelle Manor has made quite a splash since opening to the well-heeled in Spring 2023. Anyone who&#8217;s anyone has been spotted here, from Princess Beatrice to Rebel Wilson – and was that Robbie Williams playing an exclusive gig here last year? It surely was. It was founded by hospitality baron Sharan Pasricha as a sister club to the glitzy Maison Estelle in West London, so the vibe is unapologetically one per center. It caters for the hedge fund crowd with 108 opulent rooms (even the smallest have Kingsize beds), four top-flight restaurants, and private houses with their own butler. To crown it all, its Roman-style spa, Eynsham Baths, is billed as the biggest in Europe. It ain&#8217;t cheap – annual membership costs £3,600 (or £1,750 for under 33s), so flog the Patek Philippe and sweet-talk your way in.</p>

<p>The star of the members&#8217; clubs scene until Estelle Manor came along to steal its celeb thunder (grr), Soho Farmhouse is the Cotswold outpost of the Soho House empire, stretching from Shoreditch to São Paulo. (Psst: Manchester is coming soon). Set in the so-called Golden Triangle between Chipping Norton and Great Tew, the Farmhouse has 114 bedrooms and cabins, a Cowshed spa and gym, a Wellness Barn specialising in holistic treatments, the Electric Barn cinema, and sunken hot tubs in the lake. Want more? Choose from horse riding, clay-pigeon shooting, tennis and more. Membership is slightly more wallet-friendly than Estelle, starting from £187.50 monthly (£104.17 for under 27s). There&#8217;s still high demand so you may not be granted membership straight away – but you can still visit as a member&#8217;s guest, so stay sweet with your best-connected friends.</p>

<p>In warmer months. it&#8217;s also worth also checking out Soho River House in Windsor – a short hop for a day trip if you&#8217;re based in Bucks and it&#8217;s included in the overall Soho House membership package (or visit as a member&#8217;s guest). This one&#8217;s a summer pop-up, based in a stylish marquee/yurt in the grounds of Oakley Court Hotel, so it&#8217;s currently in hibernation mode. but keep an eye out from the Spring for its opening date in 2025. Riverside cocktails and people-watching await.</p>

<p>This country club with 25 acres of grounds stretching down to the River Thames was originally intended as a bolthole for John Lewis Partners (as the retailer&#8217;s employees are called). Times change though, and while The Odney Club is still owned by the John Lewis Partnership, <a href="https://www.odneycountryclub.com/membership" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">membership</a> has been extended to friends and families living locally in Cookham and Bourne End. It&#8217;s a hit in the summer holidays thanks to its heated outdoor pool, but you&#8217;ll also get the use of rowing boats and tennis courts, plus perks like discounted F&amp;B in The Manor Bar and overnight stays from £40. It&#8217;s a great spot for watching the local fireworks too (Muddy went as a member&#8217;s guest last year) – plenty of mulled wine and less of a crowd. </p>

<p>Can you rock a striped blazer and easily stomach your bodyweight in Pimm&#8217;s? You&#8217;ll take to Henley&#8217;s Leander Club like a duck to water, then. It&#8217;s the world&#8217;s most prestigious rowing club, no less, with a historic pedigree stretching back to 1818 and with a trophy cabinet groaning with 159 Olympic and Paralympic medals. Given the form, it helps to be a rower, as <a href="https://www.leander.co.uk/full-membership-eligibility/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Full Membership</a> is reserved for elite sportsmen and their wingmen. But don&#8217;t despair if you don&#8217;t have an Oxbridge Blue: land-lubbers are welcome as <a href="https://www.leander.co.uk/club-membership-eligibility/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Club Members</a>, who can use the clubhouse and restaurant and – crucially for social creds – watch the racing from its prime riverside lawn vantage point during Regatta week. There is a waiting list (it helps if you live locally), so throw your Panama boater into the ring and start practising The Leander&#8217;s Latin motto: <em>Corpus Leandri Spes Mea</em>, which translates roughly as &#8220;The Limbs of Leander and my Hopes&#8221;. Try saying that after a few glasses of fizz. </p>

The Griffin in the heart of pretty Old Amersham is the ultimate multi-tasker: owner Joe juggles running a buzzy restaurant with a chic event space and stylish co-working zone upstairs (read our review of this 17th Century gem <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/life/work/members-club-co-working-buckinghamshire-oxfordshire/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here</a>). <a href="https://griffinamersham.co.uk/members-club/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Memberships</a> start at £70 per month (plus VAT), and as well as the standard perks like superfast broadband and a sleek co-working space which is open from a businesslike 8am-5pm, you&#8217;ll be first in line for The Griffin&#8217;s events, parties and wine tastings.
