How groovy are these handbag sculptures created by London-born artist and Central St Martins School of Art alumna Debra Frances Bean? Debra’s designs are inspired by consumption with luxury, with kitsch items encapsulated within resin shapes moulded from real designer handbags. The bags are then completed in a pressure chamber to ensure no air bubbles and finished with a lacquer. I absolutely love them and think they look really chic.

Debra’s quirky sculptures have been exhibited in galleries worldwide, as well as New York Fashion Week and as decorations on the Christmas tree at super-luxe The Kempinski Hotel in Marbella. And now they’re right here in Bucks!

Debra has recently opened ArtBag Studio on Amersham High Street, which displays a collection of her quirky handbag art. You can pop in to have a look at her designs, plus Debra also takes commissions if you fancy one of your own.
