Ashmolean Rooftop Restaurant
The Ashmolean's rooftop restaurant is one of a kind with seasonal, fresh dishes and stunning views of Oxford's skyline from the terrace.
There was a bit of a change for this year’s Muddy Awards winners shindig – rather than inviting everyone around to my gaff (hiding the mounds of washing finally got the better of me), we upgraded to the super-stylish Ashmolean Rooftop Restaurant and it was definitely a WOW moment – the venue is amazing.
The first rooftop restaurant in central Oxford (it’s also a café in the daytime serving freshly baked croissants, cakes and lunch), the space is surrounded by glass windows, has a large sunny terrace and gorgeous views of the city’s dreaming spires. The menu isn’t extensive – a few nibbles, starters and six mains dishes – but it’s all seasonal and freshly prepared on site.
The restaurant is also great option for pre-theatre dining (the Ashmolean is opposite the Oxford Playhouse and a five minute walk from New Theatre), has a lovely afternoon tea offering and hosts live music on Thursdays.
