Are you in a sun-soaked French vineyard, or rural Bucks? At Daws Hill, you can barely tell the difference. Based in the picturesque heart of the Chilterns, the boutique family-run vineyard now has around 5000 vines and extends over three acres. The vineyard uses traditional methods to make superb wine from the different grapes grown: these include champagne varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, as well as Auxerrois for sparkling wines. In short, it’s heaven, and you can also pick up a variety of ciders at their shop, made from locally-picked apples. Magnifique!

There are frequent, popular tours held around Daws Hill’s pretty acreage. These demonstrate the fascinating journey from vine to bottle and include — we’d expect nothing less — ample tasting opportunities. The vineyard also regularly holds events, be these Friday night tasting sessions, wine-making experiences, craft workshops, or even a full-on theatre production among the grapes.
