When we want to feel really special, Muddy turns to this knockout hotel. Set in expansive, picturesque grounds not far from Milton Keynes, the Grade II listed manor house blends classic architecture with a fresh, modern interior, for heritage charm with state-of-the-art luxury.

In a nutshell? We think it’s gorgeous. But we also love that Horwood House caters for a range of budgets: from something simply cosy to a special, expansive suite — each one featuring views of the grounds, as well as the essential creature comforts.

Having undergone a six-million-pound refurb, the attention to detail is clear across the board. We’re talking an elevated, seasonal, and dead pretty menu on offer at Harry’s Bar & Kitchen as well as a brand-spanking-new spa, which opened Nov 2021. This boasts an ultra-modern heated pool, detoxifying sauna, cleansing steam room, gym, and more. (All the everyday essentials, am I right?)

No surprise that the hotel makes a drop-dead-gorgeous wedding or event venue. Ceremonies can either take place in The Drawing Room (high ceilings, stone fireplace, chandeliers, vast windows) or the ornate white wedding pavilion on the grounds. Decisions, decisions!
