House of Hildi, Penn Street

Ignite your pet’s senses and light up your home with these unique, beautifully fragranced, pet-friendly candles and wax products. Designed for dogs first, humans second. Woof to that.

After discovering how toxic artificial fragrances can be for dogs (their noses and nervous systems are far more sensitive than a human’s), Emma Caroline Newth-West from Penn Street in Buckinghamshire knew what had to be done.

Inspired by her beautiful black Labrador, Hildi, she took to her kitchen and experimented with Bergamot, Spearmint, Sweet Orange, St John’s Wort, Valerian, Frankincense, you name it, and ended up creating a one-woman aromatherapy brand. Unlike anything we’ve ever seen, her delicately fragranced candles, wax melts and room sprays are designed for dogs first and their humans second.

Emma’s all-natural creations are made by combining a delicate blend of homeopathic essential oils that are not only safe for dogs (Hildi was chief selector), but offer wellbeing properties for their owners too, with each fragrance evocatively named after Emma’s positive daily affirmations. Get up and ready with the ‘I Am Focused’ blends, chill out with the ‘I Am Restful’ range, or simply inhale the affirming ‘I Am Composed’ scents.

Emma is the sole founder, creator, manufacturer, and illustrator behind each of the three signature House of Hildi aromatherapy candles, plus the wax melts and room sprays, and she’s clearly onto something. Her chic, minimalist brand is already stocked in Margaux’s Lifestyle Store for Dogs in Hertford, the Grover gift shop in Great Missenden and The Tetbury Pet Shop & Grooming in the Cotswolds. She’s also had her products featured in The Country Dog Hotel in Somerset – the UK’s most exclusive dog hotel.

They’re good enough for you, and definitely good enough for your own special companion. Woof to that.
