Nellie & Dove

Muddy says: this Deddington village boutique punches well above its weight when it comes to brilliant brands and stylish pieces. An innocent browse here invariably ends with my credit card catching fire, oops!

It’s not often you find a fashion hotspot in a small village, but Nellie & Dove is just that. This new Deddington boutique (15 mins from Soho Farmhouse, 20 mins from Chipping Norton) showcases premium womenswear brands, designers and emerging talent. The buyers really know their fashion onions, with labels in-store including the so-hot-right-now Rixo London, whose pretty, printed dresses are the Instagram style influencer pack’s favourites, plus buzz Chinese designer Xu Zhi, whose only other UK stockist is the supercool Dover Street Market in London, no less.

There’s also lashings of shoes (it’s ankle boot nirvana), accessories and gifts (don’t miss the irreverent iPhone cases). Plus the shop frequently host talks from industry luminaries such as Donna Ida, aka the denim queen. And finally, the interiors are brilliantly quirky – a trip here makes the physical act of going shopping (as opposed to clicking online) fun again. There’s even a portable record player and vinyl collection, should your companion get bored while you try on 8,000 dresses.
