We’re always looking to rack up the eco points where we can at Muddy which is why we’re loving Plastic Freedom, an online store that’s tackling the world’s plastic-footprint one piece of glitter at a time.

Started in 2017 by Beth Noy, Plastic Freedom sells a carefully curated range of plastic-free, vegan and natural products that have eliminated single-use plastics from their supply chain from production through to packaging and delivery.

But what I like about Plastic Freedom is that along with the eco-credentials, there’s a very cool design aesthetic to what she sells, which makes sticking to any new-found save-the-planet impetus much easier.

There are literally hundreds of products available to buy on the site from kitchenware and clothes to food, gifts, cosmetics and festival must-haves like eco-friendly glitter (oohhhh sparkly!), suncream and travel essentials. We’re particularly taken with the Zao make up range (above), which uses bamboo instead of plastic and looks divine, the ‘unpaper’ towels (lovely cloth alternatives) and the wheat straws that are, literally, pieces of wheat with supercool packaging.

Plus, to offset the impact of paper packaging alternatives Plastic Freedom has teamed up with eco-venture One Tree Planted, with every purchase on the site equating to a new tree being planted in areas that are deeply affected by deforestation.

Plenty on here that would make very groovy gifting too for friends and Gen Zers – have a look around, I think you’ll love it.
