Queensford Lake

Queensford Lake is a natural lake popular with wild swimmers, triathletes, and kayakers alike. There are changing facilities, toilets, and a café on-site, but you must book ahead.

Queensford Lake, near Wallingford in Oxford, is a relatively shallow inland lake and a popular destination for casual wild swimmers as well as competitive racers. Although maintained as a wild lake (with swans, fish, and now even five turtles, to help prevent excessive weed growth), there are well-marked courses for 500, 750, and 1,000 metres. Parking is free but swimming is £5 a session, and it is currently essential to book ahead. The lake also offers other water activities such as water-skiing and kayaking. Changing facilities, warm shower, and toilets are provided, as well as a café on-site.
