Michelin starred chef Atul Kochhar’s restaurant Sindhu has been at the Compleat Angler Hotel, in pretty Marlow, Bucks, since 2014 and serves authentic, modern Indian food using the finest British ingredients.

Fitting with its name that’s taken from the Sanskrit for the Indus River, Sindhu has views of Marlow weir and the Thames, with interiors that mix traditional features like wooden panelling and stained glass windows with modern plush furnishings, funky bright canvases and splashes of gold saffron.

Sindhu has an à la Carte menu as well as the choice of a five or seven course tasting menu (veggie and pescatarian versions available) from the very reasonable £49 and £69 respectively. There’s also a lunch menu, if you’re planning a day trip.

Drinks-wise there’s an extensive wine list, cocktails (a great selection of Champers cocktails FYI), plus the usual beers and spirits.
