For boutique glamping with serious style creds, head to The Mirror Houses’ seven cabins with mirrored exteriors (hence the name). They sit tucked away in remote woodlands on a family farm north of Oxford, home to Charlie and Lucy and their three young children, with a Capability Brown-designed lake and hooting owls for neighbours. It’s the ultimate off-grid escape from reality.

Each super-cool cabin has either a private wood-fired hot tub, outside bath, or sauna – plus wifi for the obligatory Insta post. Obvs. Inside screams luxury. We’re talking squishy king-size bed, bathroom with a shower, a stylish, functional kitchenette (kettle, toaster, induction hob, fridge) to rustle up a good brekkie, BBQ for a tasty supper  and you’re also a 30min stroll to the nearest pub. This is off-grid with a side order or glamour.

While each cabin sleeps up to two people, better leave the kids at home. This is your chance for a proper parental recharge, as apart from babes in arms, little ones cannot be accomodated. Seems like time to let the hair loose and get those G&Ts on tap. The whole place has a palpable air of romance, so little wonder it’s popular with honeymooners, newly weds, and those celebrating something special. But ultimately, switching off and spending quality time with loved ones is what it’s all about.

Aside from the Insta-candy cabins, the whole setup oozes class. The farm is also the base of the Kirtlington Park Polo Club and Charlie (the grandson of a Derby-winning breeder), runs a stud for flat-race horses here too. The Mirror Houses is open year around with a 2-night minimum stay Fri & Sat. Although, the more the merrier in our opinion to ensure enough time to taste test the heaps of local pubs, walks, and of course, Blenheim Palace just 10 minutes down the road.
