The Perch, Binsey
Muddy says: A gorgeous country pub with stunning garden, in Oxford – the perfect place for a post-walk drink after a stroll across Port Meadow.

Tucked away down the end of Binsey Lane, The Perch is one of Oxford’s oldest pubs and it’s one of my favourites. A gorgeous 17th century plaster-rubble building, with traditional thatched roof and a garden to boot, it’s rare that you find such a beautiful country pub so close to the centre of Oxford, plus Port Meadow is (literally) a stone’s throw away.
Food has a classic British farmhouse feel with a focus on seasonal, top quality produce and an extensive English wine list. New for 2019, the pub has added a large Garden Room – wrapped in windows and patio doors that can be opened in summer – overlooking the garden and Port Meadow.
The Perch is also a lovely wedding or special events venue for up to 200 guests, with the fully refurbished dining room or marquee in the garden available for hire.
