The Story Museum, Oxford
This family museum in central Oxford has undergone a huge refurbishment in 2020 - expect magical galleries, family fun and all things story and fantasy inside.
Hidden down Pembroke Street in central Oxford, close to Westgate shopping centre and Modern Art Oxford, this cool family museum recently underwent an absolutely mega refurbishment (six million quid to be exact).
The ground floor café and immersive galleries are currently open to explore including Small Worlds – a vibrant space full of picture books and nursery rhymes for small children – and the City of Stories, an exhibition taking a journey through Oxford’s story history from ancient myths to iconic children’s literature.
The upstairs galleries aren’t open for now (due to you know what) but you can expect more majestic spaces guaranteed to keep the little people transfixed for the afternoon. We’ll be heading straight for indoor forest The Whispering Wood and the Enchanted Library.
