<p>Imagine: it’s a July evening and the sun is setting. You’re dancing in a field with your besties, wine in hand, listening to one of the country’s best nineties acts. You take your VIP pass to the luxury loos and finally after a night of rocking out to nostalgic bangers, you wake up either in your own crisp sheets, in a genuinely peaceful field with showers aplenty and a hot breakfast waiting. That’s the vibe at<a href="https://www.chilfest.co.uk/index.php?route=common/home" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Chilfest </a>in Tring, where the party’s on in the Chiltern Hills from <strong>3 – 4 July 2026</strong>.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Not snapped up your tickets yet? It’s just £97 for an adult for the entire weekend (£48 for kids), and only £38.50 for adults for the Fri throwback party (£19 for kids). Given that many UK festival tickets come in at well over double that, it’s a steal, but those VIP loo passes do fly, FYI. </p>

<p>Wondering what else you should know before you go? We chatted to Chilfest founder Steve Butcher for the inside intel on how to do the festival right. He knows best!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-don-t-stress-about-a-schedule">Don’t stress about a schedule</h2>

<p>This isn’t one of those festivals where you need to panic about sticking to a strict schedule: there’s one main stage where all of the action happens and you don’t need to join a scrum to be in the centre of things! It’s really relaxed and you can make each day and night your own; some people settle in from midday on the Sat for a full day of fun whereas others simply turn up for the headline act in the evening. This year it’s jazz-funk band Level 42 and we are expecting big crowds for that. Groups of friends tend to get together beforehand and the party atmosphere starts early; you can just turn up and enjoy!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-friday-vs-saturday-pick-your-vibe">Friday vs Saturday: Pick your vibe</h2>



<p>Fri is all about the throwback acts [this year’s lineup includes leading UK tributes to Coldplay, Pulp, The Killers and Amy Winehouse] and has evolved to become ‘family night’ – different generations come together and everyone has a great time. If you find yourself juggling childcare or planning around the kids, Friday has a really relaxed feel.</p>



<p>Sat night is when adult mates tend to meet up and go into full-on festival mode. The energy is buzzing!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-food-scene-is-bigger-than-you-d-think">The food scene is bigger than you’d think</h2>

<p>Tring may be an idyllic English countryside town, but Chilfest’s street food offering is global and it’s one of our biggest strengths. You can get your classic burgers and hot dogs of course but there’s also Caribbean cuisine, fantastic Indian curries, Chinese food and plenty of veggie, vegan and gluten-free options too. The food court is also your go-to chill-out zone if you fancy a breather. It’s slightly removed from the music and you can grab a bench and relax with a cup of coffee or a great meal. It’s a brilliant spot to regroup and recharge over the weekend.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-camping-is-new-for-2026">Camping is new for 2026!</h2>



<p>This is the first year that Chilfest is introducing camping; expect a more curated experience without any overcrowding. The campsite is less than a five minute walk from the festival which makes it so easy and there are campervan tickets with power for all of the home comforts. There will be showers and those essential morning coffee vendors on site and it’s all designed to be as convenient and close to the action as possible. We’re also considering glamping in the future, so watch this space.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-bar-is-slick">The bar is slick</h2>

<p>Festivals are known for their snaking bar queues but we’re not one of them! We’ve been working with our family-run team of bar providers since 2014 and they’re such a well-oiled machine. Tens of thousands of pints are poured over the weekend (around 20,000 on Sat night alone) and with those kinds of numbers you might expect chaos, but queues move fast and you’ll usually be served within a couple of minutes, even at peak times.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-splash-out-on-the-luxury-loos">Splash out on the luxury loos</h2>



<p>While VIP tickets have been sold out for a while now (tickets sold faster this year than they have done for six years!), there’s still luxury loo passes available for <a href="https://www.chilfest.co.uk/luxury-loo-pass-friday-2026" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fri</a>, <a href="https://www.chilfest.co.uk/luxury-loo-pass-saturday-2026" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sat</a> and t<a href="https://www.chilfest.co.uk/luxury-loo-pass-weekend-2026" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">he full weekend</a>, and it’s an add-on that Chilfest regulars swear by. It’s just £20 more for the whole weekend, or £9.99 on Fri and £13 all day Sat, and you’ll have easy access to ‘boutique loos’ with great lighting, a bit of extra privacy, mirrors and the works whenever you need.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-lucky-enough-to-be-vip">Lucky enough to be VIP?</h2>



<p>If you didn’t manage to nab a VIP ticket this year, get in quick when 2027 tickets go on sale as they sell like hot cakes and are usually gone by the end of August. There’s a large, covered seating and chill-out area and we like to make it really special for VIP attendees so we never oversell it. You can stake out your spot at the beginning of the weekend and drop in and out as you please! There’s also more luxe loos and a private bar, and of course great views.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-green-touches-you-might-miss">Green touches you might miss</h2>

<p>We&#8217;ve quietly made some solid eco-moves from day one. We have a reusable cup system; you pay once for your cup, then use it all day. Some people take them home, or we collect them and send them back to the factory where they’re washed and kept in storage, ready to be used at the festival the following year. We encourage vendors to use sustainable packaging too and festival wristbands are made from recycled ocean plastic.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-transport-s-a-doddle">Transport’s a doddle</h2>



<p>Chilfest is held just outside Tring and it’s even walkable from the town – about a mile away. Loyal locals come every year and if you’re arriving from a bit further afield it’s just down the road from the train station and about 15 mins from the M25.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For a small market town, Tring punches well above its weight for food and drink options. The pub scene is strong; try <a href="https://www.acornpubs.co.uk/akeman/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Akeman</a> for modern dining with a big terrace or <a href="https://camra.org.uk/pubs/robin-hood-tring-165568" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Robin Hood </a>for a place that’s historic and full of character. <a href="https://kingsarmstring.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Kings Arms </a>is a tucked-away local favourite too and known for its great ales. If you fancy a post-festival pizza or pasta, try <a href="https://www.storiarestaurants.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Storia</a> or<a href="https://barracudatring.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Barracuda</a> in the centre of town for some comfort food. <a href="https://blackgoocoffee.co.uk/#/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Black Goo</a> or <a href="https://www.beansnbrunch.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Beans n’ Brunch</a> are popular places for coffee and some pastries. And if the festival’s taken it out of you a bit, head to <a href="https://tringpark.woodlandtrust.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tring Park</a> or one of the local nature reserves like <a href="https://www.bbowt.org.uk/nature-reserves/college-lake" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">College Lake</a> for a reset and some fresh air.&nbsp;</p>
