<p>Christmas tree sales are go at <strong>Peterley Manor Farm</strong> alongside homemade wreaths, mistletoe and other festive foliage. They&#8217;re A-lister firs, too &#8211;  Peterley has supplied trees to the sets of <em>Eastenders</em>, <em>Strictly Come Dancing</em> and <em>X Factor</em> back in the day. While you&#8217;re there pick up some new decs and Christmas crockery from The Herb House in the Plant Nursery, along with a brew in the Barn Kitchen. Opening times are Tues-Sat (8.30am-5pm) and Sun (10am-4pm) from now until Christmas Eve. Peterley does offer home delivery, so if you don&#8217;t trust your maths for fitting the fir in your car then make use of this option.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-christmas-tree-farm-chesham"><strong><a href="https://www.christmastreefarm.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Christmas Tree Farm</a>,</strong> <strong>Chesham</strong></h2>



<p>This place sells Christmas trees (would you believe it!). It&#8217;s one of the largest growers in the South East so there&#8217;s plenty of traditional and non-drop options to choose from. The trees are all cut just days before being sold, and for every tree the farm sells, at least one new tree is planted in its place. There&#8217;s no need to book or order in advance, just pop along and pick your tree before it&#8217;s netted and taken to your car by the staff. The Christmas Tree Farm is now open daily, 9am-5pm Mon-Sun, and until 7.30pm during the first fortnight of December.</p>

<p>Wander through Lillingstone&#8217;s Christmas Tree Forest near Stowe, North Bucks, and choose your perfect Nordmann fir tree (yes, the non-drop kind). No booking required, so head on over. While you&#8217;re there, check out the Christmas Barn full of decorations, gifts and local crafts, visit Father Christmas (Sat) and Mother Christmas (Sun) in their grotto, or take a sleigh ride. Pre-booking is recommended for the <a href="https://lillingstonepickyourown.co.uk/christmas-grottos">grotto</a>, otherwise grab your gang and enjoy. Open on <a href="https://lillingstonepickyourown.co.uk/christmas-trees-and-events" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">selected dates</a> from now until Sun 22 Dec.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-stoke-goldington-christmas-trees-newport-pagnell"><strong><a href="http://stokegoldingtonchristmastrees.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stoke Goldington Christmas Trees</a>, Newport Pagnell</strong></h2>



<p>Just off the M1 near Milton Keynes is <strong>Stoke Goldington Christmas Trees</strong>, which opened its gates last weekend (24 Nov) for its 20th year. Open every weekend from 9am-4pm and on select Fridays from now until Sun 22 Dec, you can walk the fields to choose your tree &#8211; with several thousand Nordmann fir and Norway spruce to choose from, you&#8217;ll be busy! Then stop by the log cabin to warm up around the log burning stove for a mulled wine and have a nosey at the selection of homemade oils, fruit gins and liqueurs from the farm&#8217;s very own Fruity Farmer range. <p>Just outside Watlington, The Tree Barn at Christmas Common (again, no confusion here as to the purpose of this venture) is one of the big Christmas Tree players with a slew of awards, having delivered robust spruces to Downing Street, no less. If you fancy mingling with the Christmas Tree elite, you can have your tree delivered, or roam the store/barn in person where there is, literally, every conceivable bauble you can buy. It&#8217;s open every day (until midday on Christmas Eve!), from 9am-5.30pm with late opening to 7.30pm on Thursdays and Fridays if you fancy swerving the masses.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-farmer-gow-s-faringdon"><strong><a href="https://www.farmergows.co.uk/c/Christmas_Trees/cd69151110d342599ce318408764756d/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Farmer Gow&#8217;s</a>, Faringdon</strong></h2>



<p>There are several types of traditional and non-drop trees on offer at Farmer Gow&#8217;s that you can order online and collect, or have delivered. Alternatively, make an event of it and turn up to pick your tree and go mad in the Christmas Tree Barn and Farm Shop where you&#8217;ll find meats, decorations, gifts and, er&#8230; firewood. Pot-grown Christmas trees are also available. The Christmas Tree Barn and Shop is open every day until Mon 23 Dec from 9am-5pm (or 10am-5pm after 15 Dec). </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-appleton-christmas-barn-appleton"><strong><a href="https://www.appletonchristmasbarn.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Appleton Christmas Barn</a>, Appleton</strong></h2>



<p>To the southwest of Oxford sits Appleton and its sweet Christmas Barn, which is not only home to a top-end range of fir and spruce trees but also decorations, fresh mistletoe and a herd of real-life reindeer &#8211; they&#8217;ll be there to say hello until 5pm on Christmas Eve when they have to dash off to meet Santa. Roam the fields and pick a tree of your choice or go for pot-grown, it&#8217;s up to you. The barn is open daily from 10am &#8211; 6pm (late opening to 8pm on Thur and Fri), until Tue 24 Dec.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-bunkers-hill-plant-nursery-kidlington"><strong><a href="https://bunkershillgardenshop.co.uk/christmas-2024/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bunkers Hill Plant Nursery</a>, Kidlington</strong></h2>



<p>This excellent garden centre north of Oxford is styling itself as a winter Wonderland again this year, with the forest of Christmas trees in Old Walter&#8217;s Meadow festooned with fairy lights. There are both cut and potted trees available in both Norway Spruce and Nordmann Fir varieties, and you can choose whether you want local delivery or to collect your prize specimen that day. There&#8217;s even a Reindeer Challenge for littlies, with a prize and certificate if they can spot all Santa&#8217;s helpers around the nursery. Open daily 9am &#8211; 7pm.</p>

<p>These trees in Marsh Baldon in north Oxfordshire have been lovingly tended all year round ready for your Christmas delectation. There&#8217;s a wide selection of cut and pot grown Nordmann firs and Norway spruce available ranging in size (from 3ft-18ft) and price.<strong> </strong>The Christmas trees will be on sale from Thu 28 Nov, seven days a week from 10am-4pm.</p>

Head to the <strong><a href="https://rentalclaus.com/collections/rental-trees" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cotswold Fir Christmas Tree Company</a></strong>, which offers a tree rental service. Though it only delivers and collects locally, it&#8217;s worth making the trip across the border in the name of sustainability &#8211; there&#8217;s even the option to reserve the exact same tree for next Crimbo too, should you become deeply attached to your fir. This idea is so cool I hope a Bucks/Oxon company picks it up soon.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.forestryengland.uk/westonbirt-the-national-arboretum/real-christmas-trees-westonbirt" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">WESTONBIRT ARBORETUM REAL TREES</a>, TETBURY</h2>



<p>Another Glos business at the eco end of the fir trade. Give back with your tree by choosing one from Westonbirt Woodworks at Westonbirt Arboretum, with money from each sale going towards maintaining Forestry England woodlands for future gens. Prices start from a very reasonable £30 for a 4-footer (up to £70 for an 8-footer if you’re feeling brave). Experts will be on hand to advise and help you choose from the hundreds on offer. Plus, don’t miss the <a href="https://www.forestryengland.uk/westonbirt/enchanted-christmas" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">magical Enchanted Christmas</a> on selected dates. It’s a fabulous festive experience with a dazzling light trail.</p>
