<p>If you’re a fan of the iconic 1980s movie <em>Beetlejuice</em> you’ll be excited to know that a) there’s a sequel starring original cast members Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton and b) some of it was filmed in Bucks!&nbsp;</p>



<p>After a trailer dropped this week for <em>Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, </em>it was revealed that the funeral scene was filmed at *drum roll* <a href="https://www.westwycombeestate.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">West Wycombe Estate</a>. The 5,000-acre-estate, which has been the home of the Dashwood family since 1698, is one of the UK&#8217;s key movie locations, starring as a back drop in everything from <em>Sense &amp; Sensibility</em> and <em>The Importance of Being Earnest</em> to <em>Downton Abbey</em>, <em>The Crown, Bridget Jones Diaries </em>and <em>X-Men</em>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Need a recap? The original movie followed a dead couple trying to scare away a family that had moved into their former home and enlisted the help of exorcist Beetlejuice. The sequel, produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment company, also stars Jenna Ortega (<em>Wednesday</em>) and is released on 6 Sep. Pass the popcorn!</p>

<p>If you’re hooked on Oxfordshire author Clover Stroud’s moving memoirs then prepare to pre-order because she’s releasing another one in May. Despite her recent move to Washington DC, her latest book <em>The Giant on the Skyline: On Home, Belonging and Learning to Let Go</em> is firmly rooted in her home county.&nbsp;</p>



<p>So what’s it all about? As she preps to move stateside with her family to join partner Pete, Clover struggles to let go. In a journey of self-discovery, she sets out to walk the ancient Ridgway, learn more about the history of the mystical Oxon landscape and how raising her family of five kids (yes FIVE) in the tiny village of Baulking near Uffington gave her such a sense of belonging.&nbsp;</p>



<p>If it’s anything like her previous memoirs, including <em>The Wild Other, </em>a tear-jerker detailing how Clover’s mother’s near-fatal riding accident detonated family life when she was just 16, it’s going to fly off the shelves when it’s released on 9 May *pre-orders hardback immediately*.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Did you know comedian Ricky Gervais has a pad in Marlow? The star of <em>The Office</em> and <em>After Life</em> filed for £3m of renovation plans on his riverside mansion last year, but faced a flood of opposition from residents and the parish council. Now the plans have been rejected in response to complaints that the alterations weren’t appropriate for the surrounding Green Belt area. Ricky bought the mansion back in 2016, but also has homes in Hampstead (worth more than £10m) as well as property in New York, so we think he’ll survive the set back. </p>
