<p>Scooch over, Soave! Boutique Oxfordshire vineyard Hundred Hills is popping the celebratory cork after making English wine history as the first producer to scoop a coveted Gold Best in Show award. Their <a href="https://hundredhills.wine/product/hillside-no-3/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hillside No. 3 2019</a>, a deliciously lemony sparkling wine, nabbed the top spot in the magnum category at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2026. With <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/drink/buckinghamshire-oxfordshire-english-wines/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">English wine</a> enjoying a record-breaking run on the global stage, it seems Oxon is joining Hampshire and Kent in putting our homegrown plonk firmly on the world wine map. Sounds like the perfect excuse to <a href="https://hundredhills.wine/visit-us/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">book a tasting</a> and sip it for yourself we’d say. Salute!</p>

<p>In your padel era but can’t book a court for love nor money? We hear ya! At this point, the UK’s fastest growing sport has become more of an exercise in trying nab a court than actually playing. Blink and the only slot left is Tuesday at 6.15am&#8230; six weeks from now. Fear not, racket-wielding enthusiasts. Brand-new courts could soon be popping up at <a href="https://www.bluediamond.gg/our-locations/bicester-avenue-garden-centre?srsltid=AfmBOorQUNBuQaoWd7R_1gtXnLOtUsxoXZ3atUVrR-YV8ez06_qGOJHL" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Blue Diamond</a>, Bicester Avenue Garden Centre on Oxford Road. Padeltastic Limited also plans to include a timber pavilion, changing facilities and a social space for a well-earned post-match pint. Soon you’ll be able to combine leisurely petunia shopping with competitive padel thwacking. Quite the combo.</p>

<p>Bagging a table at Berenjak&#8217;s Soho outpost often proves more difficult than nabbing Centre Court tickets at Wimbledon, so we’re positively chomping at the news that the cult Persian restaurant is heading to <a href="https://www.thebicestercollection.com/bicester-village/en/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bicester Village</a> for a one-night-only supper club this July. Taking over Cecconi&#8217;s as part of the <a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bicester-village-presents-dish-tell-supper-club-hosted-by-berenjak-tickets-1986308217348" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dish &amp; Tell</a> Tastemakers series on <strong>July 31</strong>, lucky diners will be treated to open-fire feasting, scrummy signature dishes from chef Shwan Baban and plenty of flame-kissed kebabs. Tickets cost £70 and include two drinks, but be quick &#8211; this has sell-out written all over it. Miss out? Don&#8217;t panic. Berenjak&#8217;s much-loved lamb machboos will be sticking around on the menu for a further four weeks.</p>

<p>Already a huge hit with parents and smalls alike, <a href="https://waddesdon.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Waddesdon Manor</a> is getting a brand-new woodland playground this summer. The Wild Wood Adventure Playground opens on <strong>1 Aug</strong> and promises a plethora of climbing towers, tunnels, slides and swings, all crafted from wood and designed to send little legs into overdrive. Built for mini explorers aged two to 12, the nature-inspired play space blends seamlessly into the surrounding woodland, encouraging imaginative play, outdoor adventures and (weather gods willing) mud-free mayhem. The only problem? Tearing them away at the end of the day might prove even trickier than usual. Perhaps the promise of a sweet treat from the <a href="https://waddesdon.org.uk/food-and-drink/stables-cafe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stables Café</a> will ease the inevitable tears.</p>

<p>Anyone who&#8217;s tried to nab a spot at <a href="https://www.instagram.com/wycombe_rye_lido/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wycombe Rye Lido</a> on a sunny weekend will know it&#8217;s one of Bucks&#8217; most treasured summer hangouts. The good news? Following a period of uncertainty, the much-loved lido has a new operator, with charitable social enterprise GLL taking over from July. Better still, the team has announced they&#8217;ll now be accepting walk-ins when capacity allows, meaning those spontaneous heatwave cool downs just got a whole lot easier. But if you do plan on p(l)opping in for a plunge, its worth calling ahead to check busyness. Now all we need is for the sun to keep its hat on.</p>

<p>Got a budding palaeontologist at home? <a href="https://www.oddsfarm.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Odds Farm Park</a> is rolling back the clock to prehistoric times this month with its Dinosaur Weekends, bringing a fearsome Tyrannosaurus rex and an adorable baby Triceratops to Beaconsfield. Running every weekend this month &#8211; meaning just one more chance to catch it &#8211; the Jurassic takeover promises interactive shows, prehistoric encounters and plenty of roar-some (groans) fun for little explorers. Warning: you may not hear the end of the dino facts for the rest of the summer.</p>
