<p>It&#8217;s curtain&#8217;s up for this week&#8217;s local news. Made January 2027 plans yet? If your diary stretches that far, transport yourself to the streets of New Jersey via The New Theatre Oxford to see the 20th anniversary tour of <a href="https://www.atgtickets.com/shows/jersey-boys/new-theatre-oxford/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Jersey Boys</a>. The show documents the real life story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons and their sensational rise to fame, and it’s won a staggering 65 awards and counting. Sure, you’ll be singing along to ‘Sherry’ and ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, but the drama will hook you in right from the top. Think intrigue, fall-outs and run-ins with the mafia alongside ovation-worthy falsettos. The anniversary is quite the musical milestone for the cast so we’re expecting big things; it’s on from <strong>Tue 26 Jan – Sat 30 Jan 2027,</strong> so <a href="https://www.atgtickets.com/shows/jersey-boys/new-theatre-oxford/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">nab tickets now</a> for some pre-booked January joy.</p>

<p>We’re all about getting your ‘good time’ ducks in a row this week, so set your alarms for 9am this<strong> Fri 14 Nov</strong> when tickets for the swish new 2026 <a href="https://www.blenheimpalacefestival.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Blenheim Palace Festival</a> will go on sale. Headliners announced so far include Pete Tong on <strong>27 June</strong>, Grammy-nominated Teddy Swims on<strong> 30 June</strong> and Katy Perry on <strong>1 Jul</strong>, with two world-class acts still waiting in the wings. Pete Tong’s bringing a full orchestra and Teddy Swims has invited singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer-Smith along, so it’s set to be a blast, all surrounded by some very fancy baroque architecture and some seriously luxe touches. Fortnum &amp; Mason picnic in front of the palace anyone? That’s just one of the plush added extras that’ll up the ‘picky bits’ ante before the evening begins. Don’t mind if we do.</p>

<p>The best sourdough in the UK? You’ll find it in south Oxfordshire, specifically at Stoke Row’s <a href="https://immabakery.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Imma the Bakery</a> near <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/best-places-to-live/oxfordshire/henley-on-thames/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Henley</a>, which honoured the house bread in <a href="https://britainsbestloaf.co.uk/live/en/page/home" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">2025’s Britain&#8217;s Best Loaf </a>competition earlier this year. Now head chef Tonatiuh Erreguin has added to the bakery’s already full to bursting trophy cabinet by winning Baker of the Year at the<a href="https://bakeryawards.co.uk/live/en/page/home" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow"> Baking Industry Awards 2025</a>. Tona’s community spirit, commitment to exceptional quality and flair for inventive bakes (we hear the miso and sesame loaf is especially moreish) won her the gong. Originally from Mexico, where she ran a fine dining restaurant, she moved to the UK just before the pandemic and boy are we glad she did – she makes a daily staple sing and we’re spoiled to have her and her ten star bakers in our patch.</p>

<p>You’ll find it in Bucks, actually, alongside other gourmet Southern Indian specialities. <a href="https://sindhurestaurant.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sindhu </a>in <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/best-places-to-live/buckinghamshire/marlow/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Marlow</a>, owned by modern Indian culinary legend Atul Kochhar, was recognised as the best Indian restaurant in the home counties by <a href="https://britishindiangoodfoodguide.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The British Indian Good Food Guide </a>last week. Sindhu earned its place “through sustained excellence in flavour, technique and genuine hospitality” according to the judges, and we have to agree that it’s a menu we’d travel miles for. Thankfully, we don’t have to – we’ve got Indian fine dining on our doorstep, with excellent vistas over the Thames to boot. Not smug at all.</p>
