<p>Bucks has all but been crowned the new Hollywood as more celebs plan to pitch up there. This month, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne finally stamped a date on their permanent return to the UK as they look to be settled in their mahoosive grade II listed mansion, Welders House in Chalfont St Giles, by Christmas. Having bought the house in 1993, they&#8217;ve since been going back and forth with a refurb, and now the house is fitted with an indoor pool, spa, croquet lawn and tennis court – that’s 30 years well spent if you ask me. Watch out LA, we’re coming for your throne.</p>

<p>Speaking of music moguls, polish your disco shoes as Queen of Funk (sitting on a throne of 10 Grammys), Chaka Khan is the latest to join the lineup for next year’s <a href="https://www.nocturnelive.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nocturne Live</a> at Blenheim Palace, alongside disco trio Sister Sledge and The Fatback Band. Tickets go on sale this Friday 1 Dec. </p>



<p>And if you’re hopping over the Bucks/Herts border for some early Christmas shopping this Friday 1 Dec (Knebworth House has a fabulous market, FYI), you might be able to sneak into the background of a new BBC production filming on Tring High Street. Details of the show are still hush-hush, but the rumour mill claims it’s a historical drama – anyone heard from Matthew Macfadyen recently?</p>

<p>Kicking off the party in Jericho, Paul Southouse (of Lynrace and Popina) has spread his wings once again and opened the first absinthe (yep, the same drink that was banned for 100 years) bar in Oxford. In true speakeasy fashion, you’ll find <a href="https://www.lynrace.com/spirit/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Parlour</a> hidden in the basement of Lynrace covered in dim lighting, Victorian style vintage décor and curated art. Check it out on Fridays and Saturdays.</p>



<p>Fancy a pepperoni slice and vino instead? Always! Sartorelli’s is extending its empire with a new pizza and wine emporium <a href="https://www.fireandwineuk.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fire &amp; Wine</a>, in Milton-under-Wychwood. You’ll know the team’s delicious slices from their nano-brewery and pizza spot in New Yatt or their Covered Market pizzeria, and they are now joining forces with brilliant vino merchants, Eynsham Cellars, who’ll hand-pick over 250 affordable wines to complement the wood-fired slices. Taste test it from Friday 1 Dec.</p>

<p>New coffee spot alert! Watlington is overdue a boost in its coffee scene, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C0E0KqXo7lz/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Crumb Coffee</a> has just the caffeine kick to help. Opening at The Paddock from Saturday 9 Dec, the family-run vintage coffee van will offer a lovely selection of hot drinks and tasty pastries sourced from local indie businesses (hello, The Orange Bakery, Harry&#8217;s Hot Chocolate, and Oxford&#8217;s Missing Bean Coffee Roasters) &#8211; plus, extra eco-creds for their minimalist plant-based cups.</p>

<p>Moving onto Central Oxford, this weekend saw the opening of cool children’s bookshop <a href="https://www.instagram.com/caperoxford/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Caper</a>. Snagging a spot on Magdalen Road, the bijou shop packs a punch with its stock of hot new releases and classics &#8211; plus, it will double as a hot spot for family-friendly events and a brilliant activity centre.</p>

<p>A huge congratulations to Muddy Award winning Bucks-based florist <a href="https://www.studio39florist.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Studio 39</a>, in Hazlemere, for scooping up the coveted Wedding Florist of The Year award in the South England Prestige Awards. Founder Zoe Smith started the fabulous floral biz in 2020 and has since crafted beautiful blooms for over 40 weddings – mazel tov Zoe! Budding brides form an orderly queue. </p>

<p>Already plotting your New Year’s health kick? Then you’ll be happy to hear that The Marlow Club gym is only a month away from cutting the ribbon on its top-to-toe makeover that started earlier this month. Alongside its swimming pool, sauna, and killer classes, there’ll now be more state-of-the-art machines including a curved treadmill (the current king of the fitness world.) The private member’s gym will reveal its makeover on Thursday 21 Dec, so let’s pencil it in for Jan.</p>



<p>More to get you out the door, Beaconsfield has a new gym and it&#8217;s a belter for fun fitness classes and a tight-knit gym community. <a href="https://fitworkstraining.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fitworks</a>, sitting on the old  St John’s Ambulance site on Meadow Lane, is a female founded and run gym offering a host of friendly challenges for all abilities. Loving the monthly &#8216;member of the month&#8217; title that they give out to regulars! </p>
